I learned Blender (kind of) tonight instead of doing so-called real work. This was much more fulfilling. I hope you enjoy my animation!

It's 15 megs and only a few seconds long :(

I tried using a better codec (everything from Apple Quicktime stuff to Xvid), but Blender kept crashing on me. So right now, it is a .avi of jpegs. I've never heard of that before, but Blender supported it and VLC plays it just fine.

Cool! Welcome to Blender ;)

I suggest you render in a lossless or low-compression format and then do a transcoding in virtualdub.
