Hi guys! Death here.

We haven't been posting because War, who is in charge of this aspect of our adventure, is in bootcamp. Ironic, neh?  I thought so, too. She seems to be enjoying herself, though. Or at least she's content.  But what War spirit wouldn't be content?

I personally just returned from a convention in Kansas City last night. I got to toute Dimestore, one of our distributors, a bit.

AND I got to see firsthand the sexual divide the other female comic artists complain publically about. To be honest, I thought they were just being whiney bitches but I have been shown the error of my ways.

Wow.

All of those male geeks out there who want to dream about the future and futuristic sci-fi situations can't seem to drop their club and stop being caveman long enough to give things a try.  I was shocked and perhaps even a little frustrated.

I even had one fellow come by and ask me to attend his convention because he needed my element for "the female fans".

ROAR!!!!!

Why roar? Because most of our readers are male. MALE! Not because we cater to a male market or even fail at a female market. It's because we don't care if we're an all-woman female team, we just care to tell a good story.  And that's all that should be important.

BLAAAH!!!!

A VERY IMPORTANT NEWS FLASH FROM DEATH! HEAR YE! HEAR YE!!!!!

Right now I am in zombie mode.

I somehow managed to fall asleep before the girlchild woke up for school this morning. I knew it was a mistake to do so, but as I lay in bed wide awake I could hear thumps and bumps in her room. I assumed, when I should not have, that she was waking up for school. Thus - now I am in zombie mode, because she had to get me out of bed to take her to school late.

When one is in zombie mode, one understands better how the others in zombie mode can stand the thought of brains for breakfast.  All good food tastes off and bland when in zombie mode, so it stands to reason that anything weird and gross would taste good.

When one is in zombie mode, one comprehends how easy it is to walk out in front of a moving bus. When one is in zombie mode, one is already dead.  It stands to reason that the rest of the moving parts of your body that have not stopped moving should be encouraged to do so.  If going back to bed is not the solution, perhaps a moving bus will speed the process along.

When one is in zombie mode, enemies and friends alike become the same thing. You no longer care who is whome when in zombie mode. You only want one of two things. 1. Food, preferably good food.  Friends and enemies both possess something that might actually taste good in zombie mode; brains. 2. To stop moving as soon as possible. If friends and enemies stop you, while in zombie mode, on your way back to your eternal coffin of daily rot then you must fling them in front of a bus. The zombie logic behind this is that if they stop moving, they will stop getting in your way.

Finally, when in zombie mode, the more creative zombies (also known as geekus rottinkus) will write essays for no other reason except that their brains have not fully comprehended the true meaning of zombie mode. The only cure for this is for these particular zombies to eat their own brains or fling themselves in front of a bus.

Failing the ability to do either, this particular zombie has suddenly realized that her keyboard looks very much like a soft pillow.... zzzzz

Dear dear dear, I go on about not having any real news to report but then when there is I don't say anything till it's late. ^-^;  My apoligies! But at least I know for sure the infomation is correct!

If you've been followng the Akashik News box on the main site, or Drunk Duck, then you know that we  the Writers of the Apocalypes have managed to get ahold of a distributor or two. We are now affiliated with The Small Press Association (www.dimestoreproductions.com) and so will be sporting their logo on all of our subsequent publications. Keep and eye out for us in their distro and in the stores they service!

Distributor 1: Dimestore  has our files and should be putting us on in the database and on the web any day now.  So we can soon be ordered at and found at local comic shops! Exiting!

Our other distributor is Enemi, hopefully we'll hear from them soon.

Yay good news!

Acording to Death, the KY convention was quite an interesting time. She met some good people, and one even had an interesting suggestion for a future cover!

umm...that's all for now.

And we see Fox the red-headed-step-child once more! :D  Maybe I should do commentaries when I'm slow on news :/ . Anyone care to comment yay/nay on the idea?

*Edit!*

Ah- I have found/remembered that Death will be at a Con in Kentucky....I don't think it listed on our Con list on the main site. Sorry  :(  But if asked, I can post the info.

Also- Vote insintive updated!

Today War spent sometime with Conquest, it was good. Lettering tips were shared and sushi was had. Good day.  Death managed to update the comic and not kill anyone on staff....or off staff....that we know of or care of.... good day for all.

Nov. is Akashik's one-year anniversary! Wooo hoo, and to celebrate Death has revamped the site. Go check it out (of corse if you are reading this, there's a good chance you already have...unless you are coming from DrunkDuck...)

Be keeping an eye/ear out on the schedule of appearances page, there’s a little con in Kentucky that Death is going to soon-ish.  We won't be making it to MegaCon this year...next year hopefully.

Humm…can’t think of anything more to say at the moment…Vol three is coming to an end soon….and we should becoming up on the ‘pirate code lecture/rant’ page either Friday or next week. Hehehehe.  I look forward to that page. It was fun to script.

News news. We of the Writers of the Apocalypse have news.

Technical difficulties have slowed us down in the printing process but we are plugging along as quickly as we can.  We are sorry for the delays.   So sorry…..that  *insert self, person, persons and or objects here* was such a fooooool. We didn’t know…that…..ummm  (War has forgotten the rest of the song).

Technical difficulties are a be-ya-t-ch.

We have a new vote incentive up. Yay yay!

Tis also Halloween. So safe trick or treating every one. And if trick-or-treating is not your thing or not the only thing planed (it *is* a Friday after all) have fun with you horror movie feast or curling up with your self and or loved one(s) watching Nightmare Before Christmas or any other Tim Burton film.

At some point I, War, will own all the Saw movies and will enjoy a Saw Marathon at some point….but I don’t own Saw 2-4 and my Saw 1 is in storage.  I miss my Saw.  But I do not like coleslaw (yuck).

So Death is in her house and is in the process of ordering furniture and finding places to put things while working on comic pages and other tasks she hands out to Conquest the Letter and War the one that dose what Death tells her to do but not always do what Death tells her to do and faces fiery wrath of a busy Death when she falls behind on her given task so really War needs to remember to stay on task.   .....When War stays on task the results are very good.  Her task stay on powers have improved.

Comic resumes Friday!

The filler page today is the first stage of a Herman story that will be in Vol3 when it comes out in print.

Yo-yo Ma! (bad pun, War is shamed! SHAMED!)

Death is still facing off with house issues, but the main site *is* updating- though a bit late due to Conquest works during the updating hour. Heads up to the new site design coming at you in Nov. See a screenshot of it Wends. You may see some preview art for a Herman story that will be included in VOL.3  assuming Death will need some filler art as she busts her and Conquest's butt to get back on track. Damn title companies showing their butts.

Anyway- that's all the news for now. Um....Death will have at least 11 weeks or so of vote incentives sent to her this weekend less I get more done so keep your eyes on the vote buttons. There's a Herman Story in the works for Vol 3.... a Fox story for an undecided Vol....and a new site lay out. More goodies to come I assure you cuz we love to give you goodies.

Yo! In the event you did not read the news or just need the friendly journal reminder: the page today is part of a two page spread. The second half will be updating on Wends. but only on the DrunkDuck mirror site.  Because Death is moving to Illinois this weekend and won't be around to update the site.  DrunkDuck has things set up so updates happen automatically our main site...dose not have that power but not from lack of Death looking and trying!

Oh! And something you may be needing to know: Issue 2 of Akashik is now available in print  through Indy Planet http://www.indyplanet.com/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?osCsid=29f7d974560b84132545ca78f13bf241&keywords=akashik&osCsid=29f7d974560b84132545ca78f13bf241&x=19&y=11 Along with...two versions of issue 1...  ...... I don't know what that's about other then one might be an older version and the other might be the more updated version. Very sorry for any confusion that may or may not cause.

Anyway- Death will be moving this weekend aka tomorrow and how ever long it takes her the rest of the week to get done and up north. We hope not long, this drama has gone on long enough and we all want to get back to our uninterrupted comic-y goodness.

We have hit the 100-page mark on Wends. Oct. 1st. Nov. is our one year  anniversary.

Good times good times

Announcement! Announcement!  Ahhhhhem!

Next Weds, Oct. 1st Akashik will be have 100 pages of story. 100 pages people.  Also we reach a year in Nov.  Birthday month right around the corner!  We have survived 100 pages people. Or at least 99 of them tonight. Heh.

Other news- Death is moving.  Conquest’s lettering skills kick ass. War is off to join the military.  No- really, she is being shipped off to boot camp on the 30th if all goes well.  Script 4 is done . . . "love me dead" by ludo would make a good amv for FMA.  Death and Conquest are going to be drawing, lettering and coloring like mad to get ahead.  And that is all.

Peace!

Ahoy, updates will happen when/as they happen. This whole 'Death has been rendard houseless' drama will hopefully close soon on a positive note. Death and Conquest have been working hard to keep the comic pages drawn and lettered.  Keep checking to see if updates happen late. If a period of non-updates happen understand we are not gone, just over whelmed at the momet.

On another note- War has been to Dragon*Con and back.  Yay.

So let me talk a minute here about our letterer, Conquest.  Have I told you how much we appreciate our letterer?

Lettering is a very unsung aspect of comic book making, and too many people think it's a simple matter of slapping sloppy word balloons on a page and voila. It's done.  But nothing could be farther from the truth.

The truth is that if you get those word balloons wrong, your readers will read the sentences in the wrong order and respond with a simple "wtf" before leaving.

If you make the letters hard to read, you'll get the same reaction.

The same goes for ugly color schemes, forgetting the balance between simplicity and fancy, and a myriad of other factors.

But if your letterer is an excellent one who not only gets the words right but turns them into a symphony of artwork that BLENDS with the comic panels as opposed to not working at all, you get something that the readers look at and think "neat!"  Even if nine times out of ten they don't realize those word balloons are easily 50% of the page sometimes.

The art of lettering can be gorgeous. Has anyone taken a look at the lettering monks used to do on Bibles before the printing press? Sheer majesty.

The art of lettering is also time consuming and requires precision. How many of you have ever painted a sign by hand using a ruler in order to get each letter exact? I'm not talking about cheating with stencils here. I'm talking about real and truthful LETTERING. Raise your hands. *raises her hand*

And how many of you have considered if a blue logo would catch attention better than a red or yellow one?

In my opinion lettering is more difficult than drawing the panels.  And it's just as important.

I do believe that a comic with fancy lettering could be considered a comic, even without a different type of picture to compliment it. It depends on how far the letterer would go outside of the box to do it.

Hrm... a comic.. using Byzantine monk style lettering... ooh...! *files that idea away for future conquests*

Anyway, I know that most of you guys who read here at DD are also comic makers, so if you have a letterer take a moment to thank them.  Cuz... yeah. Lettering... damn hard art. And it IS an art. No matter what Conquest's parents say.

So there.

We were also hunted down and invited to another Con in Nov. Awsome!

Death also placed second in the AMV contest.

Conquest. and I got to play Zombies with a table full of cool people to hang out with and hear dirty things about quadrilateral triangles.

It was good times. We might have some pictures to post up some where of our first cos-player soon, also a list of pending /hopeful Cons we want to attend. Also some pending anouncments that will be anounced when the time is right. So heads up.

Death will be home from her wanderings sometime in the early early am-ish-ness of the morning.   Updates happen as soon as she lands, unpacks and dose what she needs to do to get Updates back up and going.  This may or may not involve a first-born-boy-child sacriface to the computer gods.  Depends if the computers still need apeasing  after their ordeals.

I know some kitens that need apeasing. They want your noses. Your nose! They will have your nasle pasages one way or the other.

Ancient City Con is next  weekend!  And we're not ready! No- really. We're not.  And I have a wedding to go to and Death has a  man to send back over seas.  And a house to pack. And a comic to run. And we need a TARDIS and a smexy doctor and old cheap  british TV effects damit.  But we'll settel for cellphone and microwaveable sex drives with nuclerar holocost..

Long time no update.

I have been neglectful of my Akshik Journal News. I am shamed. SHAMED!

Lot of stuffs been going on in our world.

Techno issues- we've been having our share of computers not doing what they are suppose to be doing. Much time was lost to the Great Computer Hardware Malfunction Rebellion of June-through July 2008. A moment of respectful silence for the lost time. dot dot dot. Moving on.

Traveling issues- apparently Death thinks her self as a turtle as in she pack up her work stuffs (ah the freedom of freelance art) and can travels as she pleases. This is a wonderful idea and would work out fabulous- if Murphy's Law did not exist. Sparing you the dreadfully long and tedious details- the little lab top she travels with has caught a nasty case of Teen-boi-mess-er-up-es. Nobody realized how bad it was till she spent all of today and more on the poor thing. There was also a nasty fall, a foot twisting a car wreck and a bunch of other time consuming unpleasantness. Why she go out of town in the first place you ask? Work. Family stuffs. And Tribal Politics. But the comic page for tonight shall be done. It will be late- again but bear with us please and we'll get things back to normal soon.

Team issues- the Writers of Four have become Writers of Three as Pestilence has left the team. This didn't really affect anything major with the comic but it happened. You all are informed.

Convention News- Good things to hear. Akashik shall be attending Ancient City Con in Jacksonville, FL August 1st through the weekend. Wooohooo our first con! We got a table, chairs and badges! Anyone in Jacksonville or the G.A./Florida boarder come down and say hi! We actually have quite a few Cons lined up. There's one in December that we're trying to get into, and I'll be walking around Dragon Con with stuffs (maybe.....depends on how things work out). We will be attending MegaCon in Orlando Fl 2009 and possibly SoutherFried Con in 2009. We'll be making a 'Con' page on the web site to keep you guys updated or something. Yay! Cons!

We Three Writers are working hard to get the comic back up to it’s normal schedule with no interruptions. So hard for you, our readers we are working. So hard.

So! For being so kind and understanding and bearing with us as we muddle through our malfunctions be them in life and or computer- you readers deserve a preview of what’s to come in Vol. 3 sans stick figures.

In Vol.3 there will be:

Sandwiches for the masses!

Doctors with nice hands.

Pirates!

Showers.

SNAKES!

Burning buildings.

Taus learns that mechanics make sucky weapons operators.

Ganji learns the correct way to talk to Pirates.

Fox learns he’s going to get a pedicure and like it weather he likes it or not.

That’s all for now.

So I just wasted half of my day looking into Keenspot to host the comic. If we moved there, we'd move off of Drunkduck - which is fine. Drunkduck's coding drives me batty with the errors and lack of the responsible site managerial fixings.

But Keenspot suxors.

Sure it's got a lot more traffic, but I just wasted half my day trying to get the coding to WORK. And if it wasn't automatically logging me out it was directing me to tutorials that I didn't understand simply because I don't. I stopped coding ten years ago *for a reason*. This would be it.

So Keenspot, unless you guys actually want to get with 2008 (like Drunkduck reasonably does if you think about it) I guess you guys are going to miss out on our comic. But you guys won't miss us, we're sure, so it's ok.

www.drunkduck.com/Akashik/ stays for our mirror site. The end.

I've gained weight since starting this comic cuz all I do is sit and work. I need to find a way to work in some exercise with all this work.

First of all, we the Writers of the Apocalypse were interviewed and became the stars of a little column called Tomorrow's Studios Today.  To quote the reporter, Chris Tinkler: "The web-master over here expressed a bit of regret that he couldn't "format" the column any better... but it's up!"

Check it out at http://independentpropaganda.com/ip_wp/chris-tinklers-tomorrows-studios-today/ if you're interested.

This event led to a second good thing.  I, Death, have joined www.100artistsproject.com which is an art charity function. I haven't quite figured out how to work with it yet being as I only joined yesterday, but I do know that part of the proceeds go to important things like The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund.  Even if I weren't always worried about the jerks in the world, I'd want to contribute!

And THAT event led to us, the Writers of the Apocalypse, finally stumbling upon the perfect publisher.

As you know we had been looking for a publisher for a while with no bites, which meant we were going to have to take the indy tract. Now the indy tract isn't bad, we just had no money. But Ka-Blam is okay with that.  They don't expect set up fees, have a catalogue and overall are just like SLG in the printing way in that we only get a proceeds of the sales... but they haven't turned us down! So we're very excited to finally have an answer to the problem.

And this means that within a couple of weeks I'll be able to announce that Issue One is available!

And this means that if you love us more than you love us now in a couple of years I'll be able to announce the cartoon is in production!

I hope.

That is all.

Death speaking here. Er.. typing here.

I had a migraine today but I refused to let that stop me. I revamped some parts of our main website, finally finished Sim9's winning desktop award geared specifically for The Archive (as well as emailed it to him), painted today's new page and got it ready for publication, experimented a bit with CMYK colors, actually got some of my paying job done, cleaned house, comforted a friend, took two naps, and overall yes, Virginia, I have been up since 5 in the morning. Thank you for asking.

We have a possible offer for publication with a little new studio called Landmark.  It's only possible and not definite because the EiC hasn't given it an okay yet. Even so, it would mean that Issue One of Akashik would be serialized in their anthology. Not bad for a start, and it's certainly the only bite we've had so far.  It would also take some of the pressure off of our backs because we're scrambing and wimpering at this point in trying to get Issue one put together as a single volume.  The cover looks great so far. Time and money do not.

I've been eyeing the latest animation test War and I had been putting together for our future plans regarding this story. I want to finish and produce it.  Maybe I'll add in some live action clips from where Pestilence interviewed me for larks a few months ago.

We must never forget that the whole point to putting it down now is so we can adapt the comics into storyboards for animation later.  That's why we're here.

The truth here is I prefer Arcana Comics to want us, but we haven't heard anything from them... and... holding one's breath leads to suffocation. Yes, I'm aware it hasn't been quite long enough time yet to give up. So what?  An offer's an offer.

Anyway, I can't wait to see what Sim9 does with his new wallpaper!  I wanna hug it and squeeze it and love it. I had a lot of fun making it and even learned some new techniques.  Woot.

Arcana Comics is our next target as I stumbled across them accidentally last night. So at one in the morning War and I recomposed our story synopsis and off the proposal went.  We're very fortunate that we were delirious when we wrote it because Pestilence told us that it's a very engaging read, as opposed to last time which was convoluted and weird.  Yay!

I'd share with you guys but that would ruin the story. Sorry!

I took the day off from drawing comics yesterday and tried to focus on my paying job - transcribing - instead.  I did a terrible job at it as I am recovering from a week long bout fighting possible bronchitis and some other something that gave me a temperature of 108 F and had me crying for my mother. (Whoever that was.)  Well, today I will focus on a painting I was paid to do some 6 months ago because I dearly want to hand it in to it's owner who also dearly would like to have it.

I have to say, though, mandalas certain are time consuming when you suddenly have no time.  Kudos to Tibetan monks everywhere.

It is my hope to get this job done so that I can do something else I promised to do. With cubes.

Ha, so the Writers of the Apocalypse (that's us) got a rejection letter from Slave Labor Graphics today.

Now we are aware that folks are lucky to get a response at all these days, so the fact that they took the time to send us a form letter is actually really kind of them. They even check-marked a reason for the rejection. To wit, it didn't interest them. -_-

We could go to Tokyo Pop or some other place and apply there, but the truth is we love our characters and we love our project and going to some place that doesn't have the same values regarding creation as SLG would be BAD for us. So we won't go to them.

Which means we need to get better jobs so we can afford to publish ourselves. Or something.

Oh, darn it. I hate doing that. I did it once before, you know, with a little magazine comic anthology sci-fi fantasy thing called Kinships. It was a big ass headache. And also with my other comic, Avenia. What a big headache. I hate having to do the marketing and everything. I'm no good at it. ARGH!

I'm not even looking forward to attending the con we're scheduled to attend in August.

So... I've got the blues. Cuz I don't wanna be a self-publisher. I want someone to do the narsty work for me. LOL

Okay. Rant/whine over.

Hi t here, DEATH here.  (Blue, to you.)  Apparently I didn't get carried away by aliens - something about trying to hijack the ship and steal their babies. I'm not sure what's up with that. I was just trying to have a little fun.

As WAR predicted, the comic is now updated. I had hoped to have this second page I'm working on up with it because it would just be neat to put more than one page up at a time, but no luck.  I've miles to go... and darn! Cuz I think it's a funny one if I say so myself.

I hope we can capture these funny moments well when we finally start on the anime itself.

As mentioned before in a rush we also still practice with animation tests.  Our last test was getting our character to stand on one foot and kick a ball. It worked after much trial and error... but the camera was shaking so badly that the footage didn't work out in the end. We need tripods!

Hell, we need the rent too... but we know better than to ask.

At any rate, it's going to be great to see our baby flourish and grow.  Although we have 2 scripts done and the beginnings of a third, that's just not enough.  I am aware that if we got the backing of DarkHorse or someone like that the rent would be paid. Dammit.  You have to have lots of scripts for that.  :-)

At any rate, that is today's update. As always, the comic (and an animation test involving Sephiroth... what?  What's wrong with Sephiroth? He was there, he was convenient, and Buddha came along for the ride!) is at http://battle-of-angels.tripod.com/index2.htm

Hail-ooo, long time no up-date. Life has carried us of Akashik away a bit. Either we ( Blue and I- this is BPurg *waves* hail-oo) are working hard on comic-y goodness like the scripts (Dreaded Script 1 is done, working on Dread Script 2....heh. The evilness we do to a certain blue haired boy is fun) and comic art and other goodies like seals, ships and sealing wax and cabbages and kings (but mostly seals, ships, logos and more character designs). Mean while, Reality rears its ugly drooling head to reminds us all is not fun and games when you have rent and bills to pay and no jobs to pay them with. So yeah....Journal kind has been last thing on our minds.  I am correcting that. Yay me.
Sunday will see the second update of Akashik (the crowd cheers).  We are dominating the voting polls by way of  we were in the 200’s four hours ago and now we are some where in the 100s. Keep those votes coming! We love them, and we love you for loving us!  Lets see….what else……um…..comments and questions are appreciated as longs as they are Aksahik comic related and have some grain of intelligence to them…and no flaming. Flames attracted the eyes of Taus and she will get carried away and burn this site to the ground and we don’t want that. No feeding the pyromaniacs please.
Sunday sees the kick off of the story, many characters to get to know love and hate. So see you then.

Um…Blue will come in and fill in anything I forgot. Unless she gets carried away by UFOs…..again.

Dearest readers, mate and random flyby typists,

It has come to my attention today that Battle of Angels has been stolen from me.

Everyone who knows me knows that this manga and animation project of mine is my baby.  They've heard me talk about it for year upon year. They were there when the first episode was published in Australia.  My cousins can attest to the fact that I used to draw winged people (specifically the main character) with a stick in the dirt road when I was all of seven years old.  Folks in the Otherkin community have seen parts manifest, swore they'd destroy Sitain (the bad guy) and were there when I finally put it out on a website for free reading.

I even found out recently that MY Battle of Angels has had a fanbase for a while.

In other words, I have thirty years of rep to back me up.  I'm not going to let this go. I don't normally show my teeth and claws but over this matter I certainly will.

Generally the storyline is a common one and is not enough to cry "thief!" over.  But there are other factors the scream theft.  The fact that the leading lady of the other Battle of Angels matches mine exactly - down to her nightmares and dreams. The fact that there's a character named Sareen that matches my own Saraen.  I couldn't stomach looking at any more - it bothered me to know that theirs is copyright 2007 and is a beefed up direct match.... while mine is copyright 2000.

Rebecca said I need to send them a diplomatic letter. I shall, but I don't expect it to go easily.  People are funny - it might just very well BE a coincidence that they match my story almost 100%.  They won't want to change the name or the characters name to preserve my dream, because ultimately people can be very selfish.

So I'll be contacting the comic book defense fund first.

This only means that I have to push up my production schedule. I was going to put aside the animation bits for another year - but its apparent it has to be done NOW. Everything has to be set into motion NOW beyond the comic which is already up and raring to go.

Another thing to protect Akashik, Battle of Angels would be popularity.  You see, the other Battle of Angels is still in production whereas my baby has been out there for seven years.  The more PR it has, the less I'll have to fight to save it.

Folks are welcome to view.

Akashik is on line. Online! Thanks to Blue who dose not seelp Akashik now has a nifty shiny new website.

http://battle-of-angels.tripod.com/index.htm

Go check it out. It has the teaser comic, short stories, a store and a link to back here. So if you came here through the web site *waves* Hail-oo.

Right now the job of the website has fallen to Blue, hoping that will change cuz she works a lot. The Teaser Story will be updating once a week on Sunday while she draws up the the first part of the story cleverly name Script 1. There you will meet Herman and Taus (from the Sling Shots short story on the website) and introduce Ganji and the lovebale ship, the Striptease.   Will be done in Black and White for now- cuz speed and quality is very important right now  and  Blue has a lot of stuff to do to pay her rent. It's also good to print on a budget.  Also it looks cool.

We will be updating every Sunday for now. The journal will update when ever we can get to it.

Our plan: to maintain the website and get the word out. Do that by spreading the word, the website and VOTE. The website has two voting buttons. We need the votes. We went from 0-680 on one and from 0-550 on another. We do love votes.

Vote Taus!

It's the beginning of a new week, which means that we won't have as much time to update as we have over the past few days... but that's okay.  We don't need to be up your rear 24/7.

Once upon a time I had a website for the original comic this idea was borne from. It's still around, still has traffic, so I just spent the evening revamping and preparing:  http://battle-of-angels.tripod.com

Lemme think.. no wait. That's it.

Well, here is another update towards our anime.  Of course we're still miles away from actual production involving moving pictures.  One thing needed for said moving pictures to work smoothly is a script and a storyboard.  What better way to cut some of the work than to turn our script and storyboard into the planned manga first?

This of course means the manga would always have to stay well ahead of the anime, but we knew that we wouldn't really get started on producing the anime for a while yet.  Tonight we've spent a lot of time developing parts of the universe and working on the script.  The script comes along slow because we keep cracking up.  But that's the bliss of being insane.

So that's our latest update.  We wanted to respond to the person who remarked on our last entry, but that function does not seem to be here. So, quickly, wow and thanks!  My crime partner and I can't wait for that day.

Journal Entry

With all the journals I have across the internet, why a blog entry here? Why bother with this place?

My reason is that this seems a very comprehensive site to keep a log of what I and my compatriots are up to. To wit: the creation of an anime.

Yes, well I know that everyone and their brother are doing the same thing... but are they doing it the way *we're* doing it? I should say not. The last animation we created took a Sephiroth action figure, four daleks, some rope, the kitchen chair, and my obsolete (and now broken) VHS-C camera. That was a lot of fun and ended up with great inspirations.

I'll post a link to that in a future blog post.

You see a long time ago I created a short one-episode comic called Battle of Angels. It has seen "official" publication twice: once in America and once in Australia. The characters remain dear to my heart, and the world they dwell in is larger then the real life universe we all live in. I had always wanted to do more with it, but never could... never had the inspiration... until now.

Within days I have managed to assemble a basic skeleton team for what needs to be done. I've talked mechanics and aesthetics... and for all intents and purposes we're working on getting ready to go. But there's this major thing we're lacking: funding.

How to get it? No clue here. I'm just the chic with the talent, not the money. We opened a store at cafepress to start with, hoping maybe folks would be interested... but so far no luck.

BTW, the store is here: http://www.cafepress.com/akashik

Well, maybe by blogging here folks interested in the tale will be glad to stop by, donate, or whatever it takes.

Our goal? To get this sucker played on Adult Swim someday. Aaaaand... not going homeless in the meantime would be nice, too.

To make our viewers laugh, cry, and over all to love our leading lady and her main men.

To die happy, knowing we did something wonderful!!!!!

VIVA LA CHEESE!

Well, what *is* this project you ask? Okay, okay.

It's going to be based on Battle of Angels, which is no longer on the internet to be seen for free because my website is temporarily down until I can pay the bill. I'll get it up as soon as possible, I promise!!! I just need to find a job first!!!

About the anime: When the anime opens, Malek Taus used to be an elite soldier with the Empire... but that really wasn't for her. So she has went AWOL for a little soul-searching and R&R. Okay, if she's caught she's going to be hung by her tail-feathers and barbecued in the Pit... but they have to catch her first.

This is where Ganji comes in. He's smart, he's smart-assed, and he has no clue who owns the ship he stowed away in. He finds out directly and regrets it!

From there come the rebel factions, the disgruntled ancient lizard soldiers, the fluffy kittens, the food fights, the ... well, you get my drift.

And I don't want to tell you everything because that will totally spoil it!!!

I should stop talking today. I've introduced the project, and I'm sure if folks have questions they'll be more than happy to ask... just keep in mind, I'm not likely to give out information I feel is important for the hush hush... nowhatImean?
